The Binghamton Press, May 2, 1917
Stephen still works as the Truant Officer for Binghamton schools in 1917. On May 3rd, the students of the West End School prior to 1890 will answer a roll call in the new Thomas Jefferson School, built in 1916.
The program for the evening includes a talk by Stephen. There is no note thats says he was a teacher in the West End school, or that he attended. So, the questions:
Is this our Stephen?
Did he teach at the West End school
Is he a speaker as a result of his position as truant officer? It is noted that those were the days of playing hookey.
