BP July 6, 1917 Claude Barber Passes Regents Exams

One hundred years ago, Claude is preparing to take NYS Regents’ Exams in four subjects: English, Arithmetic, History and Reading. Both his younger sister and he are students at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, and both pass the same exams. About ten pupils pass in each category of exams given at Thomas Jefferson.

Harriet is one of  21 students in her school and one of 136 students in the Binghamton School District to receive honor roll status. Superintendent Kelly makes the announcement in a separate article on the same page.
